HTL has returned to ABN screens, with season six of its flagship Cup Series well underway. Monday Nights are meant to be fought for.
The HTL Cup Series, in its sixth season, began initially as an Xbox competition before moving to iRacing in 2020. Six seasons on iRacing means history that is built upon race by race.
The most likely of the former series to make a return in the future, the HTL Grassroots Tour aimed to help foster a short-track racing environment during a time where short-track racing quality was at an all-time low. Martin Roberg claimed the series' only championship to date, ahead of former ABN World Champion Carmen Sienna.
Several different layers went into HTL's longest running support series. Starting out as the Hammer Down Truck Series, the competition ran for two seasons total, with close friends Pacey Wigent and Bobby Blowers having the distinction of being series champions.
A ten-race season using the sixth-generation Cup cars marks the most successful season broadcasted by ABN on Friday evenings. Shortlived as it was, David Durand was crowned as its only champion.
A short lived attempt at trying something different within the HTL community, a development series was ignited using the older Dallara IR-05 chassis. David Wright, in his #42 Budweiser Chevrolet, claimed the series' lone championship.
HTL Cup Series action is back on ABN screens, just in time to set the playoff grid! Join us on May 19th at 8:15 pm ET for the regular season finale at Daytona!
